A Catbird!

A photo from May, 2021. A very rare sighting for me. The Gray Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis). A contributing factor to my seldom seeing the Catbird is its avoidance of unbroken forest (mostly that here) and its affinity for suburban gardens (not suburban at all). Possibly.

  1. Beautiful Brenda! I am blessed with a catbird here in Florida. He/she loves my hanging birdbath and will come to my suet feeder. I always throw my fruit cores and overripe berries “to the birds” as well! I so appreciate the beauty of this bird – way underrated. Happy new year to you!
