A coworker from MANY years ago used to bring his lunch to work every day. His wife was a home ec teacher, and he had really spectacular lunches! Almost every day, he would have a pickled egg. He mentioned that many saloons had jars of pickled eggs on the bar. It was all new to me!
Hi Merry, yes that’s what I have read about pickled eggs being in jars in bars. I only know about it from my Mom making them when I was growing up. And it is described (the red beet version) being brought to America by the Pennsylvania Dutch. Did you get snow on Thursday? What a crazy time, with Wednesday’s high being 87° here, and by midnight and the early morning hours of Thursday it was 75°, then by lunch time it was 32° with snow coming down! I can hardly believe it! How is your grandson doing by now? Hoping John is doing okay. I’m sending many hugs!
