Hearts To You

Valentine’s Day, perhaps a good day to share with you another of my quilts. A quilt filled with many hearts. A quilt stitched with love.

A quilt I made a number of years ago as a gift for my Mom and Dad. It hung over their sofa in the den for many years.

My quilts have messages for the recipient and future generations. Messages of love.

  1. I don’t think I had seen this quilt. It is lovely! Looks like you pieced the hearts into the square rather than applique them on….but I could be wrong. Do you know what year you made this? I truly do miss my quilting group, back in VA as well as here in AR. So much changes toward end of life. Losing dear friends, or at least not being able to be with them to chat and sew, is a huge loss. I am thankful for your web site and getting to see that you are still doing what you love.

    • Oh JUDY! So WONDERFUL to hear from you! I don’t have this quilt at the moment. I’m hoping to get it at the end of the month. A bit of a long story. My Mom passed away in October of 2023. We went down to Florida for her funeral and brought back some things, including other quilts. I had knee replacement surgery at the end of January and am patiently waiting for things to get back to normal. Long distance travel certainly doesn’t fit in with things at the moment. My southern Maryland sister is going back down to Florida in a week or two and will bring back other things for me – and I’m hoping that this quilt will be part of what she brings back. My Louisiana sister, has been emptying the house and getting it set for sale. The first photo I have of the completed quilt is at the beginning Feb 1997. I have no picture of the label, which would include all the details. I’m hoping it will be back home with me one of these days!

Judy, I’m so very pleased that you read my posts. Doing this blog really gives me a lot of pleasure. Between getting out in the wild to find what surprises Mother Nature has for me, to hearing from dear friends.

      Sending you many hugs!
