Catching a bit of sunlight, a Silvery Checkerspot (Chlosyne nycteis) enjoys the nectar of a flower popular with pollinators, Apple Mint (Mentha suaveolens).

Despite my love of winter, I must admit, there are so many reasons to enjoy summer.
