As I hike, I let my imagination run wild. Actually it is running wild whether I’m hiking or folding clothes fresh from the line, or sitting at my desk trying to do my Spanish homework! But on my hikes, the various tree roots that I encounter are often the subject of my fantasies. Here’s one: a Lichen Covered Root Monster. I don’t have a scientific name for him yet, but I do know that he, at some point in his former life, *did* breathe fire.

Loret! I sure hope so! My mind seems to run on overdrive most of the time! I’m always imagining what things in the woods look like – something other than what they actually are! I wish more would **really look** as they hike. There is so much out there to be seen and appreciated!
