Common Blue Violets

Today, again, I’m doing the ever present task of “housekeeping” or organizing my photographs. Aside from the prime benefit of doing this chore, being able to find some particular photo when I need it, it also gives me the opportunity to see images that I took long ago. Ones that I had forgotten about. Ones that perhaps needed to be brought to my attention again. That could be the case of this one.

The wonderful Common Blue Violet (Viola papilionacea). A flower that makes me think of a precious friend, Ana. Ana’s Mom is 104 years old and loves Violets. I see these beautiful flowers and think of her. A native plant that I love to have show up in the grass around my cabin. A flower that I enjoy having volunteer in my gardens. They’re the host plant of Fritillary Butterflies, and it is because of Violets that we have Fritillaries. Thank you Violets.

    • Hi Gary! You and your family are so very special to us! As for Violets, those tenacious little native plants, I admire how they will show up and quickly bloom no matter what the season if the weather gives them a little break. And now with the start of meteorological spring we are, for sure, going to seeing some very soon!

Thanks bunches for reading my posts!
